The midnight fires are raging, there's bedlam in the town.
Children are crying, their parents can't be found.
Destruction and chaos follow me around,
My feet keep right on walking but my eyes don't leave the ground.

The trucks keep on rolling, going to who know's where,
They're empty when the get here, all we have is hope and prayer.
I know that I could run away, like many friends I knew,
