Ever since I met you, you've been messing with my heart,
Putting me together and then tearing me apart.
You've taken all my money and then come back for more.
But I just can't help it, I keep knocking on your door.
I need you there beside me like the flowers need the rain,
But lately I've been trampled and it's causing me some pain.
That's why I'm at the airport, waiting for my flight,
Watching as the 747s take off in the night.
It's a pleasurable feeling, it's a pleasurable sight,
When the plane roars down the runway into the diamond night.
The ten hours felt like ten months, I'd seen the film before,
The hostesses were nasty, they knew that I was poor.
I asked for scotch and soda, they didn't have a clue,
Gin & tonic, rum & coke, anything else will do.
At last we reach Barbados, the tarmac's steaming wet,
Just another short flight, an hour or so, and yet.
I'm still wondering if I've done the right thing,
Will you be waiting, will you wear my ring?
It's a pleasurable feeling, it's a pleasurable sight,
When the plane roars down the runway and I know that you're all right.
