Shades of the Evening

Shades of the evening, merge inside my head,
Memories of the hard times, wake me in my bed.

You can say good morning or you can say goodbye,
But don't hang around my doorstep 'cause that will make me cry.

Waking up beside you, kind of took my breath away,
Wondering how you'd treat me, wondering what you'd say.

The evening fire is dying, my heart is beating slow,
The whispering breeze surrounds me and makes the embers glow.

I know in the morning, when the sun climbs over the sea,
I'll still be wondering what will become of me.

Waking up beside you, kind of took my breath away,
Wondering how you'd treat me, wondering what you'd say.

I know you're gone for ever, and I hope that it's true,
But I'll never find someone again, another one like you.

Shades of the evening, merge inside my head,
Memories of the good times, will stay with me till I'm dead.

Shades of the evening ... fade
